Public transportation is the infrastructure that links people and places. This proposal recommends that artistic digital connectivity in transportation can illuminate and enhance a much under utilized section of Philadelphia - North Broad Street.

North Philadelphia landmark images will be graphically encoded on the cards- embedded within the card is a map of North Broad Street identifying the location of landmarks. The cards are collectable artistic artifacts, created by community artists - new landmark images will be issued each month

This project proposes architecture through education. Through this endeavor in civic engagement, these graphics and card system will encourage exploration, discovery, and curiosity.
This undertaking is an attempt at connectivty-to connect the disparate parts of North Broad Street into a cohesive, advertisable system that can be easily explored.
This project will use graphics and digital connectivity to highlight and enhance this under utilized section of Philadelphia. QR codes will be installed at all transportation nodes. The code will link cell phone users to the website which delineates North Broad Street’s history, notable landmarks, and future visionary interventions benefitting the local communities. North Philly landmark images will be graphically encoded on the cards. Embedded in the card is a map of North Broad Street, identifying the location of landmarks.
The cards are collectible artifacts that can eventually be designed by local artists. New landmark images will be issued each month. Visitation to landmarks will be rewarded with yearly points which participants can earn craft boxes within which the cards can be stored as artifcats. Other prizes will be free or reduced rides and admission to local museums .

Graphics will be displayed in subway stations to intrigue passengers and encourage them to learn more about an under-utilized section of their city. They are meant to make the subway process more enjoyable by being aesthetically considered but also to inspire individuals and embolden their sense of curiosity.
