Architecture is about people and activities. Cities should engage people, generate activities and be a place of spirit, joy, and excitement. Today, however, most parts of the street are unsafe, lonely and in decay.

 

Critical to North Broad Street is the underground subway system, a major transportation system through the city of Philadelphia.

 

The focus of this project is redesigning the Gerard subway station as a prototype for other subway stops.  Central to the redesign is the creation of lively and elegant spaces to engage the surrounding neighborhood.
